Oh Christmas Tree

We finally got our tree up a little over a week ago. Charlie helped Andy bring it in from the garage... It is easiest for them to bring it up our front steps, and Andy uses his dolly. First he gave Charlie a short ride on it! Then Andy assembled the tree with very little help from me this year... He did a great job! Of course, we got it all put together the day Charlie started getting sick – so we waited a couple of days for him to feel well enough to participate in the decorating.

Charlie’s special ornament is a Snoopy Hallmark ornament that we got last year. So we let him hang it on the tree first. He was really excited because he has been enjoying the Charlie Brown holiday specials this year, and he got a Woodstock toy from preschool one day... So he’s been playing Snoopy a lot lately.

After he got the first ornament hung we all put the ornaments up pretty fast. We also had some candy canes and cookies from Grandpa Kovar to put up on the tree. Charlie put 4 candy canes all right next to each other. Then, every day when he goes downstairs, he runs over to them to let us know that HE put them there.. All by himself. It is pretty funny!

I didn’t do as much decorating as I usually do this year, and having the tree up really made it feel like Christmas. I think I may wait a little bit to take it down!
