Assembly of the Crib

Of all of the preparations we have made for our little boy, the boy's bed has proved to be the most challenging. Researching, selecting, finding, ordering and receiving a crib that will be safe for our little boy took much more time and effort than I'd anticipated. (And once we'd done that, finding a mattress that fit it was an entirely different matter!)

But we finally found the crib we were looking for... no drop sides, a nice natural look, and we ordered it online so that it would come to our door. Andy put it together that night.

I think Andy really likes putting furniture together, and it's been awhile since we've had something new that needed to be assembled. He is pretty good at it too!

Andy carefully took out every single piece and inspected the wood. He approved.

Assembling the top of each side is probably what took the longest, but Andy was in his element. :)

Andy with the finished assembly...

And the crib on it's own, against the blue wall... We really like this crib!

Pictures of the nursery to follow at a later date. This was just a teaser!

Doesn't having the crib and the car seat make you feel like "it's time!". You'll find that the infant carrier car seat makes an excellent bassinet. It even rocks! I'm so glad you'll have Andy home to take care of you that first month. Since you have Charlie you won't have that "first time mom" luxury of sleeping when the baby sleeps.
